We are a very comfortable guest house near the sea with beautiful views. Situated in the heart of the Dolphin Coast, Thistle Guest House is just 45 km north of Durban, and a mere 20 minutes drive from the fabulous Sibaya Casino and Gateway shopping centre.
Our guests have commented on the friendly atmosphere and welcome they have had, and a number of them have returned.
We are small pet friendly, but expect the owners to (scoop the poop) and ensure they do not annoy other guests.
Our Guest House is designed to offer you comfort, peace and harmony without the strict rules of Hotel accommodation.
Take a walk in the terraced grounds, holding a profusion of indigenous plants and
flowers, take a cool dip in the soothing pool, or a 200m stroll to the nearest beach.
All
our rooms are splendidly appointed and designed for your comfort. All our rooms are
classed as luxury, with their own fridge, tv and dvd player. Our beds and linen are
of the highest quality.
Fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean’s lullabye, and awake
to the glorious sun rising over the ocean, and the sweet morning melody of the many
and varied local birdlife.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the communal lounges, reading
room, TV lounge, dining room, sun drenched verandahs, and indoor pub with pool table,
swimming pool, or the secluded braai area.
As well as TV in all the bedrooms, we also have a spacious communal TV lounge, and
of course, the big screen sports in the pub. Watch the games in comfort and style
without having to hassle to buy tickets or drive all the way to the big new Stadium.
Full
English breakfast is served daily, with the addition of champagne on Sundays, taken
al fresco (weather permitting).
Light lunches and full dinners available on request, also hot and cold snack platters in the pub.
There are many beaches along the coastal road between Ballito and Salt Rock, some
having tidal pools for those that are wary of the waves, and most of them have full
time lifeguards, as well as shark nets that are put up and taken down daily, for
your safety and peace of mind.
The relatively new Lifestyle Shopping Centre in Ballito,
just a few minutes drive away, hosts a multitude of big brand shops, restaurants
and takeaways, and there is an even newer shopping centre in the process of being
built, housing a variety of stores, from Game to Dis-

Centres hosting Doctors, Dentists etc, as well as the superb new Alberlito Hospital,
which already has a reputation for its high quality of healthcare. Durban International
Airport is only 25 minutes drive, while the new King Shaka International Airport
is just 10 minutes away.
